Stars' is the new offering from singer/songwriter Tom Laverty who hails from Ireland 's north coast. Consisting of 10 songs, the collection features five from Tom's pen, one from Scottish song writer Alex Birnie and four carefully chosen covers.

Tom Laverty's own writings explore the shadowy enclaves of love and disappointment often travelling together, encountering the darker places where we are sometimes reluctant to venture. Tales of broken relationships and unrequited love are tangled with the uplifting, poetic writings of Johne Prine and the gunfighter tales of the legendary Townes Van Zandt.

Tom, a former primary school teacher and principal has toured Canada , the USA , Holland and of course parts of th UK throughout his career in country and contemporary music. The previous album, an interpretation of classic acoustic rock hits and country roots featured on many airplay listings throughout Europe and the USA . The title of the album, ‘Riding out the Storm' by Rodney Crowell remained at number 1 in the British Country Charts for 10 weeks in 2006.

Hopefully, the album ‘Stars' will stand out due to the thoughtful and creative production made possible by ‘No Sweat Studios' in Coleraine, the ingenious musicianship of the small band of talented players and the imaginative tales that flow from the pens of the writers, hopefully delivered with melodic ease.

We sincerely wish for ‘Stars' to be enjoyed by everyone who pauses to listen.
